SUMMER RESIDENCY

Collaborate/Create/Design/Build/Retreat

Location: WSOHOIDPS Home & Headquarters, Escondido, California (North County San Diego)

Property Details:  2 acre oak grove, 1,000 yr old stream, densely vegetated, hillside, pool, borders 50 acre Felicita County Park

Lodging:  1 - 2 people

Time:  1-3 months (TBD)

Food: Provide your own. Meals are shared as well. 

Syllabus: No

Funding: Self Funded

A SHIP IN THE WOODS summer residency for artists, designers, architects or landscape architects interested in exploring the interaction between the Ship's domestic and natural environments.  Chosen applicants will have the opportunity to help design and build ongoing projects at A SHIP IN THE WOODS that will further develop the site as a unique incubator for elevated dialogues.

Application process
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed quarterly.

How many artists come per year?
host to 6 visiting artists per year.

Do I need prior experience? 

Yes the ability to build and create from fresh ideas are important.  A college degree is not necessary.  Samples of work is required in application.

Professionals who demonstrate a deep commitment to their practices. The program is open to artists of all generations, nationalities, and disciplines. 

Do you pay for travel stipends?

No
